Michele Surber

Regional Executive Director

Prior to joining Caritas and SCL Health, Michele served as Regional Director of Operations at Telecare Corporation in Alameda, California.  She also held an administrator role for the Ventura County Health Care Agency in Ventura, California, leading county-wide health centers for employee health and homeless services and a seven-city outreach program providing care to clients diagnosed with substance use disorders, developmental delays, intellectual disabilities and mental health issues.

Michele has a Master of Science in Child Forensic Psychology from the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Trinity University.

Terri Evans

Director of Finance

Terri Evans is a senior level financial and project management professional with accounting/finance cross-industry experience in auditing, manufacturing, retail, financial services, nonprofit and foundation organizations. She brings a unique blend of core values and abilities: strong work ethic, detail-oriented, resourceful, creative, and interpersonal skills provide well-rounded and versatile professional.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Colorado State University. She was most recently at Children’s Mercy Hospital and the University of Kansas Medical Center Research Institute.

Jana Zaudke, MD, MA

Medical Director

Dr. Jana Zaudke is a family physician and medical educator most recently at the University of Kansas Medical Center.   She has worked with small rural primary care clinics in Southwest Kansas with strong collaborative approach to medical care and a passion for our mission to reveal God’s healing love by improving the health of the individuals and communities we serve, especially those who are poor and vulnerable.  “I am excited to join the team at Caritas Clinics,” says Dr. Zaudke. “My hope is to positively impact patients and families by aligning mission and service with healthcare delivery.”

Jennifer Wewers

Development Director

For more than 15 years, Jennifer Wewers has raised money for causes close to her heart – healthcare for children and the poor, hospice, housing for the homeless, higher education, after school programs and services for the elderly. A quintessential generalist, her fundraising skills were forged in small nonprofits which led to extensive experience in annual giving, foundation and corporate fundraising, major giving and donor relations. She received her BA in Religion from Oberlin College, and has a masters in Divinity from Union Theological Seminary.
