Mary Windholz is no stranger to Wyandotte County. She grew up here in the hubbub of Kansas City, Kansas and attended the University of Kansas where she obtained her pharmacy degree. Soft spoken and quiet, she appreciates the giving back that comes from volunteering at the clinic. “From the very first day, I felt so welcomed at Duchesne. These are some of the nicest people to work with.”
Mary has volunteered at Duchesne Clinic for the past two years and shoulders enormous responsibility acting as our in-house pharmacist who approves all medicines prescribed and dispensed to patients. One day each week she reviews orders, catalogs their disbursement, and checks the stock lev els of our sample medicine closet. Mary also works in conjunction with the Kansas Unused Medication Repository and helps with dispensing medications that need to be r elabeled or repackaged only by a licensed pharmacist. Last y ear at Duchesne Clinic, we provided more than $1.5 million in medications.
Mary’s impeccable reliability, attention to detail, kindness, and calm demeanor enable Duchesne Clinic to have a robust and comprehensive medication assistance
program for our patients. Thank you Mary! For all these reasons and more, Mary has been recognized as Caritas’ United Way Volunteer of the Year!!
